How to Create a Survey with OQG

There is really no big difference between creating a survey and a quiz. 

The only aspect that needs to be changed is what kind of possible answers your quiz will display.  In the normal quiz layout the visitor will get to see for each question a predefined answer.  

In the case of survey where you want perhaps to get input from the visitors and allow to write free text that option is possible.

What Will Your Website Visitors Experience?

This question will help you know exactly what you will set up.  The Optin Quiz Generator can create various flows of experience for your visitors.  Each is explained in the corresponding sections.  This section refers to how to create a simple survey.

The visitors will experience the following flow:

1. They will get to your landing page and take the survey.


2. On the next page they will be promoted to insert their name/email


3. Your autoresponder will forward them to your TYO page that you created in OQG Admin Dashboard and also send them an email to confirm their address


4. When the visitor confirms but clicking on the confirmation link they  are automatically redirected to the Confirmation Page you set in the optin quiz generator admin dashboard. From that moment on it will follow any flow you setup for your visitors. You can set the same kind of flows for your visitors in both cases for quiz and survey.


5. At the same time with point 4, Optin Quiz Generator sends them an email with the survey analysis.

How to Configure OQG to Create a Survey?

The setting up of an optin survey page is exactly the same as setting up a optin quiz page, with only two exception. Before going to the particularities of what you need to setup for a survey, here are the steps:

1. Set the OQG Core elements.
2. Chose what flow example you will like to use. (optional) 
3. Modify the elements specific for the survey.

Go to the "Step 2: Quiz Landing Page Configuration" of your OQG admin dashboard. Then under Step "2.3 Quiz Questions", you can find the section "Add Questions" there is where you insert the quiz questions, answers and interpretations.

Step 3.1: Create Quiz Questions/Answers/Interpretations

Click the Add Question button to create your first question.

Step 3.2 Question, Answers, and Analysis

For each question: you'll enter the question text, multiple answers, and analysis for each answer. The analysis is what will be displayed to the quiz taker if they select that particular answer for the question.

You have complete control over formatting of individual analysis by clicking on the "Add/Remove Editor" link which will bring up the WYSIWYG editor. Finally, you can force the display order of each question using the drop down selector.

You can also select the type of answer your quiz will display, using the option "Select Type". There are three types to chose from:

• Radio Button Only: That means there will be a simple check box on the right side of your answer.
• Textbox Only: That means there will only be an input textbox for that answer.
• Button w/ Textbox: That means the answer will have both a check box and an input box.

Step 3.3 Make it a survey

You can also select the type of answer your quiz will display, using the option "Select Type". If you want that you crate a survey you need to select:

• Textbox Only: That means there will only be an input textbox for that answer.

It will look like:

For each question you can have textboxes only, and/or Button w/ Textbox only and/or a combination between both. It is entirely up to you.
