Analytics Just Got Better
This sections illustrates exactly how to quickly and easily use the Analytics part of the OQG dashboard.
The Steps:
Here is what you need to do:
- Decide what you are going to track with your Optin Quiz Generator.
- Login into your analytics account and get your code. Your analytics account can be Google Analytics, Woopra, ClickTale, Aweber analytics, etc. Now you can also use within Optin Quiz Generator, code from several analytics software at the same time AND you can also use no JS tracking codes.
- Paste the code into the dashboard and the script will take care of the rest.
1 - Step One: Understand the analytics
The purpose of this short paragraph is not to explain the whole concept on how analytics and testing works. For that you can consult your own analytics software' user manual.
I just want to remind you that you can use pretty much any analytics with the optin quiz generator. Just ensure you know what you want to test and what pages you are analyzing.
One thing that may require clarification is the goal page. If you have used any website analytics/split testing software you know that in most case you can create a goal page. That is a page where a successful action has been accomplished.
In the generic way that goal can be an optin that you got, a sell, a filling out a form, etc. In the case of Optin Quiz Generator, the goal page is the "Thank You" page which actually is a page that is being hit when the visitors had put their name and email. So the script will automatic place the "goal code" into that page.
2 - Step Two: Get your code
This is something you will do outside of Optin Quiz Generator. Just login into your analytics account and copy the code they give you.
It is important to distinguish between:
- The code they ask you to place at the beginning of the page,
- The code that you need to paste at the bottom of the page
- And in case you have a specific goal like in split testing, or optin conversions your analytics software will give that code as well.
3 - Step Three: Paste your code
Paste your code in the appropriate boxes of the Optin Quiz generator dashboard. You noticed in the Step 5: Track, Split Test and Make Money text boxes where you can simply put the code accordingly.
There is one text box where you can place the code that needs to be inserted at the top of the quiz pages, one where the code will be placed at the bottom of your quiz pages and one where the code will be placed on your goal page. Section 5.1 is for analytics code (Google Analytics, ClickTale, Woopra, etc)
Section 5.2 is for split testing code. You may chose to test one quiz landing page against another landing page. So you will place your codes accordingly. The different between the three boxes is just where your analytics software asks you to have the code placed.
Special case: Non JS tracking
If you use no JS tracking code you can paste yours in: .\app\views\layouts\main.php file, right before the </body> tag.
