Viral Friend Generator Page Options
This sections illustrates exactly how to quickly and easily set the Viral Friend Generator Page options in the Optin Quiz Generator Admin Dashboard.
The Steps:
Here is what you need to configure:
- Configure OQG to send your visitors to the Viral Friend Generator Page
- Configure the Viral Friend Generator Page layout and functionality
- Decide what happens after visitors leave the Viral Friend Generator Page
- Save your changes
1 - Step One: Configure OQG to send your visitors to the Viral Friend Generator Page
Go to the OQG Admin Dashboard to "Step 3.3 Quiz Analysis Options". This setting needs to be configured ONLY if you select "Send via email only" in the Quiz Analysis Delivery Options. If so, you can set the Page Title and the text to display on this page. This page loads as a redirect from your auto responder AFTER the quiz-taker has confirmed their opt-in, to be precise they will be redirected to this page when they click the link in the confirmation email sent by your autoresponder.
The URL for this page, which you'll need for your auto responder list configuration, is as follows:
http://www.yourdomain.com/index.php/quiz-name/confirmed

http://www.yourdomain.com/quiz/index.php/quiz-name/confirmed
where quiz represents the subdirectory you may have installed the script in.
Click Viral Friend Page as above then the quiz will automatically take your website visitors to the Viral Friend Page.
2 - Step Two: Configure the Viral Friend Generator Page layout and functionality
In the picture below you can see an example of how a Viral Friend Generator page look like. It has 3 parts. And you can see a circle around each: (1), (2) and (3). I put around each area a box with a certain color (yellow, or light orange) just to represent what the area is, in reality there is no box.
You can customize each one of them using the dashboard:
(1) is the part that you can see in the dashboard as: Viral Friend Form Intro
(2) is the part where you set the "Number of Email Receivers", email subject and email text that will be sent to your visitor's friends.
(3) is the part where you "Set the text displayed below the email list on the viral page"
Go to your OQG Admin Dashboard to "Step 4: Viral, Gift and Tweeter Page Settings" and follow the instructions below to configure it:
Viral Friend Form Intro
This will be displayed above your viral friend form. If you leave this field blank, nothing will be displayed. Just put your html code in the box there, or write using the built in interface and format your text.
Number of Email Receivers
Set the number of friends the person will be asked to send the email to.
Email Subject
Subject of the email. Input [friend_name] if you want to show quiz taker's FRIEND'S NAME or </quiz_taker_name> display the name of the QUIZ TAKER
Email Message
This will be the email message that will be sent to the email receivers. Please indicate </quiz_taker_name> whenever you want to display the name of the QUIZ TAKER on the email that his friends will receive. Input [friend_name] if you want to show quiz taker's FRIEND'S NAME. The email message should have uniform font type, size and color.
Set the text displayed below the email list on the viral page
This will be displayed on the viral friend page. If you leave this field blank, nothing will be displayed.
3 - Step Three: Chose what happens after visitors leave the Viral Friend Generator Page
This functionality allows you create within the optin quiz generator admin the page your quiz takers will be redirected after it has sent the email to his friends about your quiz. This functionality has been put in place to allow you the possibility to reward your quiz takers for sending the email to their friends.
In this way you can give them a gift to download. Maybe an e-book, or a section of some e-book, a free software, audio video, ... whatever you like.
Option 1: Chose to redirect the visitors to a URL after the Viral Friend Generator Page
You need to select "Yes", and input the url redirect page. This can be a page you already have on your site or any URL you wish. In this way they will get your gift from that URL.
Option 2: Chose to redirect the visitors to a OQG Gift page after the Viral Friend Generator Page
You need to select "No" and read below how to customize the page directly from the dashboard. That means you prefer to create your Gift Page directly from the OQG dashboard. That is useful if you do not already have such a URL to redirect to, or you knowledge of HTML are very minimal. The WYSIWYG editor lets you create that page like you would type in Ms Word.
Use the editor to add text that will appear on the page after VFG page. This is the equivalent of the gift url. But instead of sending your quiz takers to a page already created on your site, you can easily create that page here. It can be a simple "Thank you message" or a gift that you can easily incorporate and they can download/watch.
4 - Step Four: Save your changes
Use the buttons below depending of your desired choice
If the Checkbox "Validate quiz completeness before saving" is ticked then the mandatory elements for a quiz to work properly will be checked, before saving. If they are missing or wrongly set, an error message will signal that. As a reminder the mandatory elements for a quiz to work properly are:
- At least one quiz question+ at least one answer +at least one analysis for that answer.
- The auto responder code.
- The URL is present in Step 5.3. of the quiz dashboard
If you don't want to use the validation check simply leave the box un-ticked and the system will allow you to save your work without any checks.
