Step 1 [Installation Steps]
It's recommended that you create a new GetResponse Campaign for each quiz landing page you install. Below is the screen shot of for "Create a New Campaign"
Step 2 [Installation Steps]
After you've created your new campaign, go to the "Campaign Settings". You may want to configure all the settings for your campaign, but this Configuration Guide will only cover the important settings you need to properly setup Opt-in Quiz Generator with GetResponse.
Go to the "Subscribers" tab. Number 3, "Opt-in Setting" need to be configured. A checkbox next to "Web Subscriptions" indicates that this list will operate in double opt-in mode.
The "Confirmation Page URL" is the page that you want GetResponse to redirect your quiz-taker to AFTER they have confirmed their subscription. It must be in the format of the URL you see in the image meaning, it must be set to the URL of your quiz's "confirmed" page. Save these setting changes.
Step 3 [Installation Steps]
Step 4 [Installation Steps]
You'll next go to the "Personalization" tab. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, Number 9: Page personalization. Select: "Do not send..." for all three settings.
Step 5 [Installation Steps]
Go back to your main Control Panel, and click the "Edit Capture Forms" button like you see below.
Step 6 [Installation Steps]
Make sure "HTML Form" is selected. Select your correct campaign from the drop down box. Finally, click the "Start Capturing" button.
Step 7 [Installation Steps]
7 - Sub-step 1
Use "Create HTML Form". Insert your quiz's "Confirmation URL using the format you see in the image below. Meaning, it should redirect to your quiz's thankyou URL.
For "Pass subscriber details", select "Let me configure..." and also, "Don't send subscriber information..."
Click the "Next Step" button.
Note: The new format of the Thank You Page, Already Subscribed Page and Confirmed page are given to you by the Optin Quiz Generator, in the dashboard step 3.1.
7 - Sub-step 2
It is the actual HTML form code. Simply click the "Select all" button, copy and paste it into a temporary text file.
It's recommended that you change the text to be displayed on the "submit" button to "Send my analysis". It's more appropriate then the standard text.
You'll see the correct "confirmation" URL in the form code, plus make sure that the "getpostdata" value is set to "empty".
Step 8 [Installation Steps]
Finally, you can copy the form code into the Opt-in Quiz Generator script, Step 3.1 of the dashboard as shown below.
You can choose between different types of optin solutions. In the case of No Optin, the quiz taker will not need to insert the name/email to get the analysis but will be automatically displayed on the next page.
If you chose No Optin a new window below allows you to place an email address of yours that will receive a copy of the analysis, you chose so.
The single optin and/o double optin choice is self explanatory.
That should get you all set with using GetResponse with Opt-in Quiz Generator. Should you encounter any problems, submit a ticket at: Opt-in Quiz Generator Help Desk
